Query Letter

Penjelasan singkat tentang Query Letter :

Dear Better Home,
I am currently seeking representation for The Last Great Kickball Player, my complete, 45,000 word young-adult novel. I’m a big fan of many of the YA authors you represent, and I hope you will be interested in adding me to your list.
Percival Greensborough is a typical seventh grader (except for the name). He hates school, idolizes Alex Rodriguez, and isn’t very good at talking to girls. All that changes when Hollis McCormick transfers into his class mid-year. The supremely confident newcomer is just as mysterious as she is beautiful, but more importantly, she is the best kickball player that anyone at Jefferson Middle has ever seen. Within days, she becomes a living legend.
To everyone’s surprise, Hollis chooses Percival as her one friend and confidant. As their friendship grows, and Hollis’s jaded past is revealed, Percival is taken on an unforgettable journey that teaches him the true nature of friendship and loyalty. By the end of the school year, nothing is the same.
My writing credits include one short story published in Short Story Magazine Monthly, and several book reviews posted online. I graduated from University of Maryland with a B.A. in English. I currently work for a PR firm, but spend every single ounce of my free time writing. The Last Great Kickball Player is my first novel.
Thank you for your time and consideration. As per your submission guidelines, I have attached the first five pages of my novel. Upon your request, I would be more than happy to send you the full manuscript. Please note that this is a simultaneous submission.

Sincerely,
Arya Herlambang
